Here are a few points and facts that you should consider when you coming up with a blog name.

1. Go for a name that aligns your Blog vision

First of all, ask yourself, What’s your blog is going to be about? Who is your target audience and what topics you are planning to cover on your blog?

Because if you have spent hours and hours to decide a name for your blog and at the end if you have chosen a name that does not match your blog vision, then you have completely wasted your time.

For instance, if you have chosen “Photography Hub” as your blog name and then you decided to cover Tech related article on your blog.

Then it’s a bad decision..

So, it is always important to choose a name that matches your blog vision…

For Example – Syed balkhi named his blog “WPBeginner” where he covers topics related to WordPress for Beginner.

Steve Kamb named his blog “Nerd Fitness” where he covers fitness-related article.

2. Keep your domain name short

It is always recommended to go for a blog name that is short, catchy and easy to remember and read.

While it is not always possible that the name you have chosen fit in the above mentioned all criteria, still you have to consider this point while choosing a blog name. Select your Blog name or come up with a Domain Name for your Blog, so you can also get a short domain name.

3. Don’t Use Numbers or Special Characters

Never create a domain name with a number and special character. In some cases, you may use a number if it is necessary, but try to avoid special character & hyphen in your domain name. Among all of them .com TLD is still the most popular and recognizable domain extension followed by .org and .net. Most TLD is made for a specific purpose. For example – .Gov TLD is specially made for Government website. Same as every country also has specific domain extension. Like .in is for India, .US is for united state and so on.

I am not telling you to copy someone name but getting some creative ideas from top blogs in your niche is not a bad idea.

2. Use Your Own Name

Using your own name as your blog name is not a bad idea. Your own name can create a more personal touch and warm presence among your readers.

There are many bloggers who chose to name their blog on their own name and they are very successful today. Neil Patel.com, KaylaItsines.com, JamesAltucher.com. Stevepavlina.com, raelyntan.com and many more.

The benefit of using your own name is it also helps you build a personal brand.
